At the Institute of Medical Studies (IEM), we have a high-fidelity simulation centre that makes a difference in healthcare and rescue training. With the relocation of our headquarters in 2014, we have significantly enhanced our continually evolving spaces, featuring modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment to guarantee an immersive, top-quality training experience.
Since 2014, our advanced simulation centre has provided specialist tools and spaces for realistic practice, including, among others:

• Rescue and pre-hospital care stationsSpaces designed to recreate real emergency scenarios, featuring a climbing wall and emergency bays equipped for advanced life support and general critical care practice.
• 2 ambulances, one of Advanced Life Support, fully equipped.
• Advanced simulation laboratoryEquipped with high-fidelity simulators such as SimMan, an emergency operating theatre and an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) featuring all essential electromedical equipment for realistic training.
• Innovative control roomEquipped with observation mirrors and a video and sound computer network that allows simulations to be monitored in real time from any classroom or office in the centre. This system facilitates the detailed evaluation of performances, the identification of areas for improvement and the application of corrections to optimise learning. In short, thoroughly developing non-technical skills in urgency and emergency care such as teamwork, communication, leadership, etc.
